Call for Proposals

Would you like to generate the science for the first joint scientific meeting of the Society for Experimental Biology, the Biochemical Society and the British Ecological Society?

The SEB, BES and BS are planning to run a joint symposium in 2010 and would be pleased to receive proposals for events to be held anywhere in the UK from both members and non-members alike.

About the meeting:

The three societies are calling for proposals with an exciting topic that encompasses the interests of members of all three societies.

The aim of the meeting is to:

• be a step towards greater collaboration within Life Sciences
• facilitate cross-disciplinary collaborations and networking
• promote the latest research in the chosen area
• encourage the participation of young scientists
• attract 100 – 150 delegates

Secretariat Support and Funding:

Organisers will be provided with funding and full administrative support for the meeting, leaving them free to focus on the scientific content. The format of the meeting is flexible in terms of duration (1 to 3 days) and programme organisation.

To make a proposal:

Please send your proposal to conferences@jointBESSEBBS.org

Proposals should include a theme for the meeting and the names of proposed keynote and invited speakers.

There is no need to include logistical details in your proposal as assistance with this can be provided.

The deadline for proposals is 1 July 2009.

Decision making procedure

All high quality proposals will be considered jointly by representatives of the Meetings Committees of the three Societies.

The decision will be made 31 July 2009 and you will
be informed of the decision by 1 September 2009.
